Happy Birthday Josh!!

My Mom knew I was pregnant before I did. We were having lunch at Arby's one weekend when Mom and Dad had come down to visit us, I think it was the weekend we went to check out some towns they might want to move to. Anyways, Mom says to Dad, "Vicie's going to have a baby." Sure enough, just a few weeks later James and I stood over the bathroom counter watching a line develop on the test. We were pregnant!

On Sept 15th I was admitted for an induction. The OB felt I was too small to have this baby that was measuring large for gestational age, and James was set to leave for Air Force Basic Training on Sept. 28th. So, in I go, at 37 weeks for an induction. My body obviously wasn't ready to give birth yet, and 53 hours later, around 10am on Sept. 17, 2004 Joshua was yanked rudely into the world with forceps. I don't look back fondly on his delivery, but I remember holding him for the first time and instantly feeling the overwhelming love immediately.

Josh does everything on his own terms and with energy. He doesn't cry silent tear; he wails as if someone is hanging him from his toenails. He doesn't smile and giggle, he shouts and shrieks with joy. He is intelligent, and constantly comes up with things that crack me up. He could be a fabulous lawyer some day, as he dissects and corrects everything he hears. He is a parrot, and quick witted just like his Daddy. He is a great big brother, and a terrific son.

Some classic Josh sayings from the past few months:
"Mom, gravity is so overrated"

"Mom, Princess Leia would like a banana muffin. I'd like one too."

"I know the couch isn't a trampoline. I SAID I was PRETENDING it was a trampoline. Use your imagination Mom!"

"We don't have any chicken fishies, Seth. We've got chicken whales and chicken duck feet though."

"Daddy are you giving Trey num nums?...oh, so boys don't have milk in their boobs? Only Moms do? Wow, you really do have super powers Mommy!"

"Mom, can you go in the other room so you won't see me jump on the couch?"

Happy Birthday Joshie! I love you with all my heart and soul. You inspire me daily to be better than I am, and shower me with your love. I'm truly blessed to be your Mom.

I'm having trouble with the slideshow...so pics will be added later.
