I might actually make it to the store today!!! I am one of those parents who actually keeps her sick children home for 24 hrs post fever. Honestly, I'm concerned about taking my sick children out for a few reasons. Mostly, I don't want them exposed to germs when they are already in a state of compromised immunity. But, I certainly don't want to share germs with anyone else. A facebook friend posted the other day about taking her son to the doctor to see if he had RSV (his 2 siblings did) and then tackling the commissary with her 3 kids. I was shocked. I mean, if your kid have RSV why, oh why are you taking them to the commissary? If her husband was deployed I could see it, but he's got a 9-5 job. All I can say is that she must have a greater patience threshold than I, because I am no where near willing to take 3 sick kids to the commissary. That right there is torture in my mind. Just the thought of it makes me cringe.
Of course, I say this after being shut in for the past 5 days with my 3 sick children. We went to the commissary on Thurs, and probably used the same cart as some other sick child. By Saturday evening Seth was running a fever. Sunday it hit me. Josh fell into the trap on Monday, and yesterday Trey woke with a fever. At this point we are all fever free. Finally. I am going stir crazy. My amazing neighbor was kind enough to run to the store yesterday and bring us some milk and bread, but I am in need of a freezer restock. Thankfully we have a decent amount of food storage, so we weren't in desperate need of payday shopping. It will be nice to have some fresh produce and meat in the house this evening though.
My boys are bummed about missing playgroup today, but the last thing I need/want to do is take Trey out until he has been fever free for a full 24 hours. You're probably wondering how I'll make it to the store right? Well my awesome neighbor is going to come hang out this evening long enough for me to do a child free outing. Woohoo!!!
